Beechwell House in Yate - Garden Open
Beechwell garden is filled with rare and exotic plants from around the world, including 6 different types of palm trees. There also many types of Banana trees, Bamboos, tree ferns and succulents. See some plants here that you'll only see at Eden or 2000 miles further south! This extrodinary garden was recently reviewed in the September BBC Gardeners World Magazine. Beechwell House has also been featured recently in a number of other national gardening magazines.
Beechwell House (so named because of the Beech Tree and the 16th century well in the garden) is a privately owned garden located in Yate, near Bristol, South Glos, UK.
Since moving into the property in 1990, the garden has been transformed by owner Tim Wilmot from what was once a large patio, beech hedge and overgrown orchard, into a garden of largely sub-tropical and architectural planting. The garden has been completely designed, created and maintained by the owner.
Entrance is £3 per adult (children free), and there's delicious cream teas & cakes. All the money goes to worthy charities like Macmillan.
Beechwell House is 51 Goose Green, Yate, South Glos, BS37 5BL. and more information on www.beechwell.com.
