An 'Almost' Victory Over Yate's Bus Shelter Fiasco

 

When the new bus shelter was unveiled in Yate, we all saw the flaws, we could all see what the designers couldn't, that in fact, the shelter provided anything but shelter!

 

The lack of seating, the lack of sides to stop the wind and rain was a poor design fault from someone who obviously was not a bus traveller. The designers had obviously never waited in the wind and rain for a bus and tried everything they could to stay dry and warm.

 

There has been a small victory over this disastrous bus shelter this week. Designs have now been approved to adapt the shelter and provide more seating and protection from the wind and rain.

 

New plans have been made for improvements to the shelter. Additions will be made underneath the existing canopy.

 

Ian Blair, Town Councillor, has said "The new shelter will be quite big and have seats for people whilst they wait. The problems shouldn't have happened in the first place. The canopy that was put up initially will remain and the new shelter will go under

    Its a shame they dont totally remove the shelter and start again as that is what is needed!
