  Great news in The Gazette recently: "Yate Town Council is to be given permission to introduce new byelaws at a park in the town. The council took over running Brimsham Park from South Gloucestershire Council in May after years of asking. Town councillors believe they can look after the park, which includes a popular fishing lake, children's play area and open fields, more effectively and at less cost to parishioners....

  Street lights along the Badminton Road are to be switched off at night as part of a energy saving scheme.
