Yes, we too find that car park quite tight to negotiate. They have fitted in as many as they possibly can.
Your post, SLPCFP, came as a notification to the thread I opened about empty shops, so I found where this was and replied to it to let you know. Hope you don't mind...I still agree with you about the car park at Morrisons!
I find using this car park in the car and on foot to be totally unsatisfactory for the reasons mentioned above.
It seems that they want to prioritise the number of spaces over user safety
I would be grateful if Morrisons could consider reformatting the car park, especially as the end of the shopping centre works may relieve pressure on car parking globally within in central Yate area.

Also where they have the trolley bay parks on the carpark very often trolleys are not collected often enough and people keep putting trolleys back. They collect so many that they are stacked out onto the road in a line way past the limit of the trolley bay making this very dangerous for drivers.
Yes, this is not great. I know this is not the junior members of staffs fault, so perhaps it might be worth going back into the store and reporting to a member of management?

Would someone from Morrisons like to comment on the concerns raised? It would be interesting if they acknowledge our concerns and specifically what action is being taken to address them?
Go on Morrisons - shine as a corporate citizen! :-)

SLPCFP - You have raised your concerns with Morrisons management prior to posting, haven't you?

Well, now that we have our new Tesco we will not be going to Morrisons as often as we have done while it was being built. The little temporary Tesco did not have a lot so we shopped more at Morrisons and we have had some hair-raising moments in their car park in that time.
Complaining to the management would just give us the satisfaction of telling them, as they wouldn't have the power to make changes for us. It would be far too costly. Their car park has probably been assessed by the powers that be on these things and passed, just, to satisfy the rules.
If, by the way, that anyone high up in Morrisons, Yate, gets to read this thread then maybe they would be kind enough to post theirs views. Not holding breath while waiting!
I am sorry Anoldun, but I totally disagree with what you have said above.
You cannot expect a company to act upon your feedback if you don't give it to them! They can't be expected to be mind readers!
Also, based on past experience, most companies do appreciate constructive, honest feedback from customers.
Ok, I see your point. Only, whenever I have contacted companies with any kind of grievance they have fobbed me off, and that is my past experience.
With the car park it is a big one to expect them to re-arrange the area on a feedback comment that I make. No. It would take many complaints, and proof of actual safety regulations being ignored, to make any kind of difference.
So far I don't think that there have been any accidents, or damage to cars or street furniture, so until there has been an actual incident, and big enough to be seen in the newspapers then it will stay the same.
Yes, it is a difficult car park, but it has been in operation for quite a while now, since it was upgraded and the petrol station was built. I am certain that the company will take that view.
Until such a time when something actually happens to highlight the problem, sadly, I fear that they will not be interested.
You can't expect them to do something about it unless you raise with management.
I'd suggest you stop winging and do something proactive!
