SHOPPING CENTRE LINK ROAD ACCESS TEMPORARY CLOSURE
Access to Yate Shopping Centre car parks from the Link Road will be disrupted this weekend (8th – 9th October) as the Tesco contractors complete the final reconfiguration works for the new car parks.
From midnight on Friday there will be no access to the car parks from behind the petrol station on Link Road as this area will be closed to all traffic. However, customers will be able to exit on to the Link Road from the Shopping Centre by the petrol station.
From midnight on Saturday there will be no entry and exit from the Shopping Centre car parks from Link Road. All drivers will be able to use the entrance and exit off Station Road.
Customers will be able to use the petrol station on Link Road as normal.
Andrew Lowrey. Yate Shopping Centre, Manager: "These closures will enable the contractors to complete the final phases of the new car park works. Car park directional signage will be clearly displayed and staff will be on hand to assist shoppers.
"The final piece of the jigsaw puzzle will be the removal of the Tesco temporary store starting on Monday, 17th October and remediation of that part of the car park ready for the new Tesco Extra store opening on Monday, 24th October.
"We are grateful to customers for their patience during these works and encourage visitors to use public transport whenever possible or to park in the overflow car park off Link Road and access the Shopping Centre on foot."
