I would like to see WH Smith there as well, now that Yate is reaching the size needed to attract them.

Since WH Smith opened a branch in Thornbury this year, I would say that Yate reached the appropriate size long ago. It can't be long to wait now.

I do agree about WH Smith, I hope it will happen.
I did notice today while I was in there today that on the new Tesco's windows (nearest to the shopping centre) there were 3 big signs inviting enquires and the number of possibly some estate agent. Does that mean that there will be 3 separate stores there as well as Tescos?
Yes, there are three smaller units at ground floor level under the Tesco store in East Walk. They have just started marketing these.

Will the M&S have lampposts outside?
If so, how many and what design?
Please clarify.

I wanted to buy a very unusual item yesterday (17th Oct) in Yate Shopping centre, a ....Newspaper.... with the temp Tesco store closed, and the new one not opened, I find it AMAZING that you cannot buy a newspaper in Yate Shopping Centre!! Even when the new Tescos opens, it will be a pain to go in that big building and queue up with lots of shoppers for one. So, YES I agree a WH Smith would be great, perhaps in the Old Electrcity shop building on the other end of the shopping centre so people who want just a paper, sweets or dare I say cigarettes can pop in and get them without going to Tescos.
More hight street clothing stores would attract more shoppers i think,
