YATE'S TEMPORARY TESCO STORE TO CLOSE ONE WEEK EARLY

The temporary Tesco store in Yate Shopping Centre will close at 4pm on Sunday, 16th October, a week earlier than planned so that the site can be cleared and car park restored before the new Tesco Extra store opens at 8am on Monday, 24th October.

Explaining the decision to close the store a week early, Tesco Corporate Affairs Manager, Sophie Akokhia, said: "We appreciate that this will leave our customers without a store in Yate town centre for a week but we feel it is important to complete all the necessary works in the car park to prevent further disruption after the new Extra store opens.

"The temporary store will be removed starting on Monday, 17th October and the car park restored thereafter. A full announcement about the works and their impact on shoppers will be issued early later this month.

"Meanwhile, there are still Tesco Express stores in Station Road and Brimsham Park and further afield in Thornbury and The Willow Centre at Bradley Stoke. There is also a home delivery service operating from Bradley Stoke."

    Well done Tesco.

Thanks for the advance notice, super efficient as always.

Can't wait to shop in 'Tesco Extra Yate' rather than the weekly visit to Bradley Stoke.

Good luck for the opening day and for the years ahead, I am confidant the new store will bring added blessings to our shopping centre.
