Too many second-hand shops for my liking. Mind you, that's pretty much the same for every high street in the country! I just go to Cribbs if I need to get to decent shops

I'm not sure if you are also referring to charity shops, but these do serve a purpose.  Perhaps the charity shops have an unfair advantage over other retailers that have to buy their stock.

I love charity shops.  I'd rather get nice clothes cheap that also help a good cause than have to go to some budget shop that only makes clothes in sweatshops.

charity shops are amazing; love to pick up something cheap and then dye, cut and paint it up.

Thats a good point about buying clothes that help good causes rather than buying clothes that are made in sweatshops. Also they can be a lifeline to very importants local causes. See my article about the Sypha shop, Cranleigh Court Rd.
