Police will be holding a bike security road show in Yate Shopping Centre on Wednesday September 19.

The mobile police station will be outside Yate Library from 10am for cyclists to come along and have their bikes marked and registered for free as part of Relentless, keeping you safe.

Neighbourhood Inspector Andy Workman said: "If you mark your bike with your postcode and register it at http://tinyurl.com/34ytex5 we will be able to identify the rightful owner if it does get stolen, and that deters thieves.
"We are grateful to Blast bike shop in Chipping Sodbury for giving us vouchers offering 10 per cent off bike locks which we'll be handing out to the cyclists who visit the road show."

The police team will also be offering bike security tips including:
• Always lock your bike using a 'Sold Secure' quality lock
• When out, lock it to an immovable object
• At home, chain it to a ground anchor, even inside your shed or garage
• Make sure your shed or garage is secure and fit a low-cost alarm.
