Will you be taking part in Yate's Relay For Life?
After doubts surfaced in November as to whether the event would return, it has been confirmed that Yate’s Relay For Life will happen again this year.
Relay For Life is an inspirational overnight event that honours cancer survivors and celebrates life. The Relay for Life involves teams gathering at local venues and taking turns walking laps around a track. Each team must keep at least one member on the track at all times. Relay events have a friendly, festival-like atmosphere that the whole family can enjoy.
Every Relay For Life lasts 12 to 24 hours, runs overnight and includes a Survivors' Lap of Honour and a moving Candle of Hope ceremony.
This year's Relay for Life will take place at Yate Outdoor Sports Complex on Saturday, July 2 to Sunday, July 3. Teams of competitors, including many cancer survivors, must have at least one member on the track for the entire 24 hours. There will also be side stalls, music and entertainment for crowds to enjoy as well as a survivor’s lap and candlelit ceremony at dusk. For more information visit
