Where is Yate's World Cup Fever?

As you drive through Bristol and the surrounding areas you can see that World Cup fever is slowly spreading, until you reach Yate!

There does not appear to be a swell of World Cup anticipation throughout the town. Even the pubs and shops are keeping their support under wraps.

Although I am not a massive fan of the flags on cars and the banners draped from houses, when you enter a village or town that has a little patriotic decoration is it noticeable and I somewhat miss the devoted decoration.

I would have thought that some of the larger pubs would have had the banners flying by now. We are only five days from the start of England’s World Cup campaign and we just don’t seem to have entered into the spirit of the tournament yet.  Is it just that we don’t have faith in our team this year, or has the economic climate have an effect on our passion for the game?

Is there a street in Yate or the surrounding area that is teaming with English pride or even pride of another nation?

If you know or live on the most patriotic street or drink at a patriotic pub, upload your photos to YatePeople and lets show our pride in our team.

Driving through Yate today I did see a group of Youths with a cheap Football decorated as the england flag and a large flag also draped over one of thier shoulders. I did ponder over the thought of if these youths would be screaming the names of the current team under Fabio's direction, or the names of thoose in our 'Halls of Fame' - the likes of Shearer. I concluded that it wouldnt have been any players of the team playing Saturday thats for sure!...

I am going to take a look at Celestine Road. I still think Yate isnt patriotic enough. Maybe thats why we are playing so badly.

There's a little corner of Celestine Rd that's made a big effort.

    Well done to them.
