Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church will be taking part in the Victorian Evening this Friday by giving away photos to remind people of the true meaning of Christmas.

The church in Broad St. will be taking part in a nationwide initiative by Baptist churches to encourage people to think of the story behind Christmas.

The church will have a nativity scene outside from 4pm on Friday, and plenty of dressing-up clothes will be provided for anyone who would like their photo taken as part of the nativity scene.

Everyone will receive a free 6" x 4" photo to take away, and will be able to access the picture from a web site to print further photos, or e-mail them to friends and relations.

The Baptist Church has recently taken part in the popular Shoebox Appeal. The church was a collection centre for donated shoeboxes full of children's presents, which were sent to Eastern Europe,  Central Asia and Africa. Nearly 2000 boxes were sent this year, due to the generous donors and the hard work of the volunteers who sorted and packed the boxes for delivery.

The church has a full range of Christmas services this year including a carol service by candle light which takes place on Sun. Dec. 20th at 6.30pm.
