Congragulations to local band AREA 51 for getting through to regional finals.

The Chipping Sodbury band AREA 51,  named after the top secret U.S. military base in the Nevada desert, have passed the audition to hopefully take them to the finals of the Live and Unsigned Festival in London.

The next stage of the contest, the regional finals, is on the 27th March in Cheltenham. If the band get through this stage they will be performing at the O2 in London, where the overall winner will receive a recording contract with Future Music and financial backing.

The band play their own music as well as cover versions. They state their influences as: Kings of Leon, Thin Lizzy, Jet, Bullet for my Valentine, Metallica, Nirvana and Guns 'n' Roses.There new album which is their third, and is called Faded Days, is out on the 15th May.

They play at various Bristol venues and are next playing in Yate at the White Lion on the 26th March. On the 26th June they play at the Yate Music Festival in Kingsgate Park.
