I visited Chipping Sodbury Farmers Market this morning. Although small, it had everything you would want to make some delicious meals.

Snowdrop Cottage produces some unusual jams and chutneys
The Upton Cheyney Chilli Co. stall was selling dips and jams and I purchased a medium strength dip after having a taster. Visit www.uptonchilli.co.uk for details.
Nadine Peters was manning the Snowdrop Cottage stall. Nadine produces the jams, and her partner Louise Keedwell makes the chutneys. After trying the Beetroot Chutney and Orange and Ginger Jam I found they were too tasty not to buy. Nadine explained that there was a 10p refund for returned empty jars, so not only was this local low food miles food, but there was an element of recycling as well. Snowdrop Cottage sells at Thornbury and Redland Farmers Markets as well as Chipping Sodbury.
I purchased some chicken and mushroom sausages at the Cotswold Edge Farm and Old Sodbury Lamb Stall. There produce can also be purchased at their farm shop in Pucklechuch at The Old Bakery, 25 Westerleigh Rd.
The Cottage Bakery, Bristol was doing a roaring trade, and I bought a huge crusty brown loaf for £1.60.
Sarah was manning The Mousetrap Cheese stall and I whole heartedly recommend the Cheddar with Garlic, it had a real 'punch'. Visit the www.mousetrap.com for more info.
CJ's Home Baking was selling Cheese and Chilli individual bread fingers, and also Feta and Chive flavour. A nice lunch time snack for 80p. I can also recommend the cup cakes.
Sophie was manning the Mullion Cove stall. They sell artisan food and drink from Cornwall including the first English-grown tea. The tea comes from the Cornish Tregothnan Estate, visit www.tregothnan.com
for the story behind this product. To buy Mullion Cove products on-line and to order gift hampers or down-load Cornish recipes visit www.mullioncove.net
The Market is held by the Clock Tower the last Thursday of the month, and the second Saturday. The next market will be there on Sat. 13th Feb.
