Gloss FM

As a founder member of Thornbury FM, member of the Management Committee and Presenter of regular programmes I thank the writer for the mention of our new name Gloss FM (forget the big "S").

It's nice to have a place on your website but since day one we have been tainted by connection with the Church of England, not that I am knocking the C of E but we are not "church radio" in any shape or form and have no connection with any religious or political party.

The fact that the "Vicar of Thornbury" was part of a team who founded  us and still  is "Chairman" of the team who run it is an unfortunate connection which has given us an image over the years which we are trying hard to shake off.

We do NOT broadcast from the church or a church hall. We have our own purpose built studio with a Reception area.

Sadly we have been limited in our broadcasts seemingly talking only about Thornbury all the time, myself as a trained Interviewer being guilty of that many times with my guests from Thornbury being on my show, many worthy citizens doing charity work and shining examples of good citizens in the community of Thornbury but that has not endeared us to Yate and other towns.

I have the privilege and pleasure of having Ian Blair "Mayor of Yate" on a recent show. He was wonderful and enthusiastic about Yate and so he should be, it is a growing and thriving community with great shops and community spirit.

What I want personally now is for guests  from YATE to join me on my daily chat shows from April and talk about whatever you want as long as it is not politics or religion.
