An opportunist goal from Leighton Badlam gave Long Ashton Reserves a 1-0 away win against FC Bristol in the semi-finals of the league's Jack Jenkins Memorial Trophy.

The home defenders failed to clear a long throw and Badlam was on hand to score from close range and earn Long Ashton a place in the final against Lawrence Rovers Reserves at Yate on Wednesday, March 31 (7.30pm).

League leaders De Veys raced to a comfortable 4-0 away victory against Bideford OB after John Bale took his tally to 24 this season by scoring the opening goal.

Ben Garland, Paul Boz and Keiron Nutland were also on target for the unbeaten pacesetters, who remain 10 points clear of British Royal SC, 5-0 winners at Greyfriars B. Paul Smith hit a hat-trick and Anthony Tape struck twice to preserve the only 100 per cent record in the league.

Carmel United hit Iron Acton Reserves for six without reply with the help of doubles from Ken Oni and Raphael Burke to stay in touch with the leaders, in third place. Goals from Craig Down and Ashley Morgan completed the rout in spite of a fine display by young Acton sweeper Steve Hill.

"Carmel have a very good side and they are a credit to the league," said Acton's manager, Chris Wilmot.

Imperial Reserves came from behind to beat Golden Hill Reserves 3-1 after trailing to a strike by Dean Manfield.

Lee Dite netted an equaliser, then goals from Wes Hawkins and Craig Hislop clinched three points for the Imps, who are catching up on their fixtures after a late start to the season.

Lawrence Rovers Reserves were held to a 0-0 draw by lowly Bradley Stoke A after missing a host of chances.
