Police close park after reports of sex attack

Police closed a park near Bristol, following an allegation of a sexual assault.

Kingsgate Park in Yate was closed after police received reports at about 8pm on Monday night. Avon and Somerset police would not give details of the assault, or whether the victim was a man, woman or child. The park is likely to remain closed, but police urged people to “remain calm”.

Det Insp Jill Kells urged anyone with information about the attack to contact police.
