Shirehampton Reserves leave Roman Glass St George A shattered

SHIREHAMPTON Reserves erased the memory of last week's surprise defeat at Wick Reserves with a comfortable 3-0 Senior Division victory at lowly Roman Glass St George A.

Scott Bamford (2) and Rob Gibson were on target for the leaders, who remain two points clear of Made For Ever, 5-1 home winners against Hanham Athletic Reserves.

Michael Tucker hit a hat-trick for the second-placed team, whose tally was completed by Jay Morris and an own goal.

Unbeaten Old Sodbury are still in the hunt for honours after Andrew Neale netted the only goal against AXA Reserves, while Aaron Fry (3) and Ken Malala fired Coalpit Heath to a 5-1 home win against Wick Reserves.

Jason Mogg shot Crosscourt United in front at home to Nicholas Wanderers Reserves, who were saved by Ian Jay's equaliser.

Steve Withey replied for St Pancras, who lost 3-1 to strikes by Luke Gardiner, Scott Chancellor and Dave Edwards in the basement battle with Hallen A at Redcatch Park.

Matt Grimes grabbed a hat-trick to help maintain Brislington Cricketers' unbeaten record in Division I. Joe Westcott, Leigh Iles and Chris Munden were also on target as Talbot Knowle Reserves were swept aside 7-0.

The win helped Brislington close the gap on leaders Longwell Green Sports A to just one point – with three games in hand. Longwell Green dropped two precious points after being held 2-2 by Seymour United Reserves.

Sean Stevenson scored for third-placed Hambrook, who drew 1-1 draw at Rangeworthy, while a Stuart Dring penalty gave Sea Mills Park a 1-0 win against Bendix.

Eden Grove still lead the way in Division II after a Ray Jacobs hat-trick helped secure a 5-2 win over Broadwalk.

Danny Hunt and Ashley Rowe added the other goals to keep Eden Grove a point clear of Patchway Town A, who crushed Iron Acton 7-1 thanks to goals from Brad Thomas (2), Danny Webb, Rob Foster, Neil Chapness, Robert Bailey and Danny Kingdom.

Paul Cutter (2), Matthew O'Brien and Phil Anstey were on target for third-placed Warmley Saints, 4-0 winners against AEK Boco Reserves.

Shane Millard scored a hat-trick to help Fry's Club A thrash bottom-of-the-table Greyfriars Athletic Reserves 7-1. Scott Gregory, Scott James, John Pitt and Neil Murphy were also on target.

Tilly Rangers conceded top spot in Division III after going down 2-1 to third-placed Shireway Sports. John Poole scored for Rangers but goals from Phil Ashpole and Lucas Parsons secured victory for Sports.

DRG Stapleton Reserves moved to the summit after goals from Semi Balogun and Grant Wolsley clinched a 2-2 draw with Olveston United Reserves.

Gary Bennett (2), Dean Norman, Greg Pinchean and Brad Dunn were all on target as Mendip United Reserves recorded a thrilling 5-4 victory over St Philips MAS Reserves.

Struggling Bradley Stoke Town collected their fourth win of the season, goals from Adam Sykes (2), Matthew Hull and Sam Chilcott sealing a 4-2 success against Chipping Sodbury A, while Totterdown United Reserves earned a surprise 5-1 win over Highbridge United A thanks to Jack Moon, Alex Saunders, Dave Bull, Justin Barry and Matthew Dark.

Bottom club Shirehampton A lost again, Dan Green, Kyle Davis and Ben Scafee scoring in a 5-3 defeat at Oakland.

John Smith (2), Alex Palfreyman, Dan England and Dave Langridge were on target as St George Rangers extended their lead at the top of Division IV after seeing off Talbot Knowle A 5-0.

They are seven points clear of Southmead CS, who were held 5-5 at Portville Warriors. Horfield United are up to third after John Burden's hat-trick and a Ross Crockett strike saw them pip Oldland Abbotonians A 4-3. 16-year-old Ross Talbot, Jason Side and Martin Webb hit back for Oldland.

Richard Bream (2) and Steve Brock fired JDH Builders to a 3-1 victory at Longwell Green Sports B, while Made For Ever Reserves beat Fry's Club B 4-0 with goals from Chris Williams, Mark Wilson, Chris Hucker and Nathan Howell.

Glen Tavener netted a last-gasp winner from 35 yards for Division V pacesetters Soundwell Victoria, who scraped home 3-2 at Brimsham Green Reserves. Chris King and Matt Steadman were their other marksmen.

Patchway North End beat AEK Boco A 6-0 to remain top of Divison VI thanks to goals from Mark Palmer (2), Sam Scanlon (2), Dave Woodward and Rob Page. Hallen B are still five points adrift in second place after a 6-2 win over Seymour United A.
