Yate United under 9s football club are seeking to increase their squad for the 2009/2010 season.
The first training session took place last night - despite the drizzle! But it is still not too late to join.
Training is every Tuesday night from 6pm to 7pm at King Edmunds sport pitches.
Yate United play in Hanham Minor League and the games take place on Sunday afternoons.
Yate United are a friendly club with FA qualified coaches and FA Charter Standard Status.
If your child was born before Sept 1, 2001 and enjoys playing football, then go along for a free introduction.
I spoke to Andy Benden Yate United Team Manager. He told me about the Soccer Star Challenge the club is running this year:
"For the 2009/2010 season we are running the FA-backed Soccer Star Challenge, a football coaching, learning and assessment program.
"The program allows children to set simple performance goals with certification for achievement, while monitoring ability at specific techniques, so your child will get proper coaching and learn the game properly but all in a fun and welcoming atmosphere."
If you are interested or for more information, please call Andy Benden, team manager on 07878 422681 or 01454 322 167.
