Yate: Save Our Green Belt Campaign
Even with boundary changes and the new Thornbury and Yate constituency, the Liberal Democrats remained the party of choice for the area, even with 20,000 less voters than the previous constituency of North Avon.
So, what is it about the Liberal Democrat MP that relates to the people of Yate?
Steve Webb’s campaign to save the Green Belt surrounding Yate and Chipping Sodbury shows that he cares about the landscape and environment in which his constituents live. The increased traffic through Yate, the flood risks and not to mention the damage to the local landscape were high priority in his campaign.
Is it Steve Webb’s long-standing reputation, as an MP who cares for his constituents, which helped his re-election?
With a percentage of the South West turning to Conservative representation, Steve Webb sits surrounded in a sea of blue. Are you worried that the change in bordering constituencies could have an influence on the future of this campaign?

I'd hope that altough Steve Webb is now part of a coalition government, that it will not stop him from continuing the fight for the Greenbelt. It would be good to know whether surrounding MPs are also willing to save the GreenBelt!
