Two arrests on van theft

TWO men have been arrested in connection with a series of thefts of from vans in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.

They were arrested in Filton after police from the South Gloucestershire Priority Crime Team saw a suspicious vehicle in Filton on Tuesday.

Two vans were seized after the arrests.

Police said yesterday that a 28-year-old Cardiff man had been charged with the theft of tools worth £3,000 from a van in Yate on August 17 and tools worth £2,500 from a van in Eastville on August 3.

He has been released on police bail, on condition he does not return to the area, and is due at Northavon Magistrates Court next month.

A 23-year-old man from Newport was released on police bail pending further inquiries.
