****-a-doodle-don't?

In shocking news, reported here, a poor defenceless peacock is being driven out of Yate, merely for having a good old ****-a-doodle-doo in the morning.
This unfortunate bird, an inhabitant of Harescombe for at least two years, has been the scourge of the neighbourhood every summer. When the sun rises at 4am, the people of Yate are treated to the sound of this peacock in full cry. Though the dulcet tones of a peacock in the morning would be music to the ears of many, it seems that dawn is not the most popular time for this bird to prove it has the x-factor.
Retired members of the community are bemoaning their lack of a lie-in. The police and the RSPCA have been informed. The whole community seems to have risen up against this most beautiful creature. But never fear, those of you who support our feathered friend! Despite the authorities’ best efforts and the fact that the bird isn’t exactly keeping his location a secret, his whereabouts are yet to be discovered. There have been no allegations of “fowl play”.
For the time being at least, the fair citizens of our neighbourhood will have to put up with the beaked baritone belting out his daybreak ditties.
