February 14th
To get you in the mood, and to get your creative juices flowing, here is a poem by local poet Teresa Blackwell:
What do you see as you walk down the street?
A number of people that you'd like to meet?
Then screw up your courage and ask them on a date,
Maybe you'll find your match, in the little town of Yate.
Take them to dinner, or for a walk through the park,
Or even a picnic on the common, tis' such a lark!
Although the common may be cold, with the rain, snow and sleet.
So instead, to a restaurant, on Chipping Sodbury's High Street.
You may fall in love, find your partner for life,
The romance may blossom, a new husband or wife,
And with this loving message, I will be on my way,
May you find love and have a Happy Valentine's Day!
