Are the kids interested in dinosaurs - how about a fossil walk?

The Southwold Group of the Avon Wildlife Trust has organised a Cotswold Fossil Walk for Sunday the 18th April which will be of about 2hrs duration. The walk will start at Tresham which is near Hawkesbury Upton and finish at Alderley.
Fossil expert and author of many books on backpacking Chris Townsend from Oxford will be leading the walk, and sharing his knowledge of local fossils that can be found in the area. There will be time for any interesting flora found on the Cotswold Way to be studied as well.
Meet for car sharing at the Clock Tower High St.Chipping Sodbury at 2pm. Wear good walking footwear and bring a magnifying glass if you have one.
The Avon Wildlife Trust is the largest charity working to protect wildlife in this area. It has 17,500 members and 38 nature reserves which include Willsbridge Mill and Valley. The Trust is organising a Wapley Work Day to carry out general conservation work in Wapley Woods on May 8th which is a Saturday. Meet at 10am by the Shireway footbridge. Bring gloves and wear wellies.
