Two more local schools get rated as good by OFSTED

Both Old Sodbury Church of England Primary School and St. Mary's church of England Primary School Yate have both been rated as good by a new OFSTED report.
Old Sodbury was graded as 3, which is rated as satisfactory, for the overall effectiveness of the school, which has had a recent significant rise in writing standards.
The early years foundation stage was rated as 2, which is good. The children in reception where found to settle quickly, have confidence, behave well, and have a positive attitude.
The school also achieved a grade 2, a good rating, in personal development and well-being. The inspectors found that the pupils were enthusiastic, sociable and enjoyed their school.
St. Mary's Primary, Church Rd, Yate was given a rating of good for all aspects looked at by the inspectors. The school was found to have strong Christian principles , and to provide good care, guidance and support for its pupils.Pupils from all backgrounds join in the extra activities which the school offers, benefitting from many trips, visitors and residential visits. One area highlighted for improvement was the school's effectiveness at communicating with the parents of its pupils.
