A theodolite, worth £15,000, was stolen from Westerleigh Road on Monday (October 15).

Council surveyors were working near the nurseries and briefly left the theodolite to adjust other equipment. Moments later the orange precision instrument was found to be missing.

A white car was seen pulling over and driving away. The surveyor flagged down a passing police car and reported the theft.
