Congratulations to all the girls at The Red Maids' School for this year's GCSE results. 90% of the students at the school received A* to B grades in their exams. 28% of students who opened their envelopes this morning achieved A* grades. In Biology 50% of students got an A*, in French 43% of the girls achieved an A*, while in English Literature 33% of students gained the top grade. Recent investment in upgrading the school's facilities is paying off as more than 75% of girls who opted for Physical Education as a subject were awarded an A*.
Paris Bruno who lives in Bradley Stoke gained 12 A* grades and one A grade. Beatrix Haigh who joined the school in Year 7 from The Manor C of E Primary School in Coalpit Heath gained 11 A* and two A grades while her classmate Elin Harding from Chew Magna achieved eight A* and four A grades. Ygraine Clarke who travels to Bristol everyday from Tintern in Monmouthshire on a school minibus from Chepstow opened her envelope to discover that she has achieved nine A* and two A grades. Like the other girls Fleur Baughen from Hotwells will be starting in the new Sixth Form Centre in September. She'll begin the new term with nine A* grades and one A grade under her belt.
