It always fills you with pride and even a little bit of hope when you read that a local school has been praised by Ofsted.

South Gloucestershire The Ridge Junior School Praised by Ofsted
So often we hear of schools under performing and underachieving so it’s great to hear that The Ridge Junior School is doing so well.
The school was commended for its family ethos and unity throughout the school.
As well as being praised for a united ethos throughout the school, it was also congratulated on its well planned curriculum and pastoral care.
It makes a real difference when a school provides a sense of community and care for its pupils. The school now sees this as the beginning of a journey of improvement for other areas of the school and that this is simply the start of even better things to come.
The inspectors advised to continue improvements that the school must increase cultural awareness throughout the school and provide more outstanding lessons for all year groups.
This is a positive leap into a positive future for The Ridge Junior School and with such an encouraging and eager teaching staff the next report can surely only get better.
Looking at Ofsted reports, many Yate schools are achieving and performing well but what do you look at when choosing a school for your child? Does Ofsted make a difference in your choices or is distance the main concern?

This is brilliant news for The Ridge Junior school. It is good to hear good news about local schools for a change. This is a great building block for the school to be become an outstanding institution to which other schools in the area can look to. I hope that the school continues to grow and they get commended in other areas too.
