ReportWell done to all for a great game of rugby, Things were looking good when from a scrum the ball was shipped down the line to Emma to score her first of 5 tries of the game. It was good to see every player today holding their lines in defence and on the attack everyone was in position ready to provided support play.
With Nichole making all the breaks and controlling the game the tries kept coming, With Zoe and her sure foot converting all but 3, the points were going up.
It was good to see Jasmin making a try saving tackle and getting stuck in several times.
With the ball going to fast paced Emma again her fast sprint down the left wing left her slightly isolated, as the supported players tried to catch up Emma had to take the tackle and hope the support could get there. It did in the form of Izzy who scooped up the ball, looked up and saw space and just ran for the line to get her first try of the season.
With Nichole making all the breaks it was only fair that Nichole should get a try but it was not to be, after a good break down the left Nichole was supported by Emma and Izzy, as Nichole was tackled just short of the line she managed a good offload to give Emma a easy try.
With everything going down the left wing it was time to change sides and this enabled Sarah to score a nice try, this is not what Sarah will be remembered for during the game as the highlight for Sarah must be for the 4 tackles Sarah made in a row. For those of us who seen it happen in front of us it was great work.
Nichole had her just rewards before the end of the game and got a well deserved try.
Well done Lydia on you first game for the team
Now for the opposition this was a mixed team from Minety, Cirencester & Swindon Supermarine. From my match report you may think the girls had an easy game but this was not the case, St Mary’s and to fight for every touch of the ball and every inch of ground, we were lucky that every time we had a touch the girls made good use of it.
Every time the mixed team from Minety, Cirencester & Swindon crossed into our 22 we struggled to keep them away from the try line. It was like watching another team with good passing and good support the tries had to come, and they did and put 5 tries past us.
Thanks go to all the girls from both sides on a good match to watch.

ReportMary's Travelled to Worcester for a rematch, Worcester still came away the victors today but it was good to see Mary's get some points on the board today.
Passing was coming together today and it was good to see 3rd and 4th phase ball.
Rosa, Ellie Warring and Sarah provided some good rush defence and committed 100% on getting the first tackle in.
Great to see support play being used today, and with a nice pass from Zoe Rees to Emma to a borrowed Worcester player for our first try.
Nichole as captain today seemed to put in extra effort and made some good ground making runs and from our scrum Nichole made a nice forceful run down the blind-side with a pass to Emma who gained a few more yards, Nichole was there again in support to receive the pass back and fought well through the defence to score a well deserved try.
Several times we we got close to the try line just to be stopped short.
Player of the match could not be decided in the end as all girls played with commitment.
Thanks to Worcester and well done to Izzy on your first game.

ReportMary's girls first game of the season.
Worcester showed Mary's what good support play can achieve today and they came away the winners. Lots to learn from today's game which we will put in to training over the next few weeks.
Mary's got close to Worcester's try line several times but just did not have the support play there to cross the line.
Good play from both sides today, thanks to Worcester for today's game and well done to Vicky, Ellie and Zoe on your first game.
