Weston-super-Mare's Burnell set for debut in Town clash

Striker Danny Burnell has joined bottom side Weston-super-Mare on loan from Chesham United and will make his debut in tonight's Blue Square South game at Braintree Town.

Manager Andy Gurney said: "Danny has a good goal-scoring record for Chesham and we badly need a striker to start taking the chances we create.

"I also have a couple of other players that I am interested in signing."

Looking at Weston's league position, Gurney added: "Our last two performances have been very good, but that little bit of luck you need is unfortunately not going our way.

"We must start winning games to put pressure on the teams just above us."

Dayle Grubb is ruled out with a stress fracture in his foot, while there will be late fitness tests for Clayton Fortune and Ben Joyce.

● Mangotsfield United have a fitness doubt over central defender Scott Hendy (groin strain) ahead of tonight's home clash against in-form Gosport Borough.

Hendy pulled up during Saturday's 4-0 home victory over Taunton Town and Rob Moore replaced him.

Defender Danny Haines is back in the starting line-up so Geraint Bater will push forward into his normal midfield role.

● After three straight wins, Yate Town face a difficult game at free-scoring Cirencester Town.

And they have a doubt over central defender John McAlinden (hamstring).

There is also a doubt over striker Adie Adams, who scored twice at Bracknell before being substituted with a dead leg.

Matt Hale, who has had a big impact since he recently joined Yate, has a groin strain, but manager Dave Mogg is confident he will be fit to play.
