It's hard to avoid the road works in Yate
Badminton Road in the last week you will know exactly what road works I am talking
about.
It seems that all road works need to be done at the same
time on Badminton Road this week, and it looks like they are not a short-term
problem.
Starting at the junction of North Road and Badminton Road,
the footpaths are having some major renovations that are causing intermittent
effects on the flow of traffic. The works are due to continue until the end of August and
will have a moderate effect on the flow of traffic on the A432.
Once you tackled the first obstruction you are met by
another set of road works as you enter Coal Pit Health. During Peak times it can take a while to make your way
through this obstruction as they are controlled by temporary traffic lights.
Work is being carried out here by E-On Central Networks who are replacing overhead
high voltage lines with underground low voltage cables. Works here are estimated to continue until November. Does anyone else think they could have organised these works
so they weren’t occurring simultaneously?
Does anyone know a way to avoid all these works and still
get to the A4172 without going too far out of your way?
If you want to see major roadworks planned or in effect on your journey, why not check out Elign. It shows all roadworks and gives details of their purpose and timescale. It could save time on your daily commute.
