Are the roads around Yate dangerous?

I have been thinking for some time now, well since the big freeze earlier this year, that Yate, like many other towns has some dangerous roads thanks to the effects of the ice and freezing temperatures.

Are the roads in your area as dangerous as this?
The roads have been left with major potholes and some unassuming cracks in them. These unassuming cracks and holes will again become dangerous when the cold temperatures return and they remain unattended.
I know it is only September but, as the rains of autumn start to appear, the roads will again become dangerously slippery and the dark nights can hide some of the most damaging of cracks in the road.
The council has said that in July over 150 roads were inspected and a number of these roads were treated with a range of resurfacing techniques. But, have they done enough?
An off duty Police Officer was recently involved in an incident whilst riding between Chipping Sodbury and Wapley. The Officer was taking a bend cautiously when a tramline crack caught his bike and carried him onto the opposite side of the carriageway. The Officer stated he was lucky to have come away with mere cuts and bruises. If traffic were to have come the other way, he may have lost his life.
What is the condition of roads by your houses and routes to work?
Do you think the council need to re-asses the state of roads before winter to avoid unnecessary accidents?
Comments
The roads around Wapley are particularly bad. I am not looking forward to the long dark nights on those roads. They are dangerous enough in dry weather. An assessment of the condition should really be adressed now before there are more acidents.
